Big B caught red handed in a lie, pees in his pants
While it is true that IPL is sucking most of the oxygen out of the market right now, the TRP rating fiasco has nothing to do with that. Big B simply lied.
Just to clarify. TRP is not an absolute measure like for example one inch or one cm is. It is therefore not universal nor portable. The measure is limited to the boundaries of its market and to the time period for which the calculation has been performed. In short, TRP ratings is a complicated dynamic calculation. It is valid ONLY for the market for which it was been calculated for. Also it is valid ONLY for the time period for which it has been calculated for. Overtime as the number of channels within a market changes and as the overall TV viewership changes, so does the implication of these ratings. Hence a score of 1 today is not the same as a score of 1 yesterday. Therefore we cannot use ratings from 3 years ago to compare ratings with shows running today.
Even after knowing the above, Big B wrongfully used TRP ratings to lie and to make it appear that his KBC had more viewership. Just so that you understand this, let me repeat, SRK’s KBC had more viewers than Big B’s KBC yet had a lower TRP (because over 3 + years all the factors had changed).
When Big B was caught, he responded by peeing in his pants

Shah Rukh to stay away from Knight Riders matches

Kolkata, (IANS) Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has decided to stay away from Indian Premier League (IPL) matches involving his team Knight Riders until he has a clear understanding of the code of conduct.
Shah Rukh was reportedly peeved after being not allowed to sit in the players’ dug-out by ICC Anti-Corruption officials.
“I am still trying to understand the code of conduct expected of me at the matches of the IPL… ICC etc. After I understand it, I will decide whether to accept it or not. Till such time, I will be with you guys at the hotel, in the meeting but will not come for the matches,” Shah Rukh said in a lengthy SMS to the Knight Riders team members.
Shah Rukh said his absence from the field had nothing to do with the team’s poor performance.
“Please do not ever feel it is anything to do with us as a team. I am as dedicated to my Knights as I am to my kids. Only, I won’t be coming to the class room till the headmasters’ rules are understood by me. I am a bit anti-establishment kind of a guy, so I apologise for this quirk to you all.”
Shah Rukh also denied reports of any rift with Knight Riders captain Sourav Ganguly and coach John Buchanan.
“Ignore all this bit about Dada, me and John having issues. It’s a normal thing in the world. People like to hit you when you are down… It will make us stronger. The only way to avoid this is to win,” he wrote.
Knight Riders, virtually ruled out for a semi-finals berth, have two matches left. They are taking on Delhi Daredevils in Delhi Thursday and then play Kings XI Punjab in their last match at home.
“Chin up and don’t spoil your character in the next two games. Let’s go out with a bang and not a whimper. In films, we say you are only as good as your last film. So let’s make the whole world know how good we are in the last two games.”
Seeing that the morale of the team is low in the face of being eliminated from IPL, the actor has been since Monday sending morale-boosting SMSes to all team members to keep them in good humour for the remaining do-or-die two matches.
Khan asked Sourav’s team to keep up its “fighting spirit” and clarified that he was completely behind the team and had not distanced from it, as reported in a section of the media.
Forget cheergirls, Riya is here
Bollywood actor Riya Sen has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Indian Premier League’s official website, www.iplt20.com.
According to an agreement, Riya’s role will require her to attend the IPL matches, interact with cricketers and post her interactions and views on the website.
Talking from Dubai, Chief Technical Architect of www.iplt20.com, Akash Aurora confirmed Riya’s appointment. He said, “Yes, we have appointed Riya as the brand ambassador of our website.”
Explaining why they chose Riya, Akash said, “We saw Riya attending a couple of the IPL matches. We observed that she was quite well-versed with the game and its proceedings.
Rather than having somebody naive on board, we preferred getting someone who knows about the game. Riya was our first choice and we went ahead with her.”
“Riya has already signed the contract. The duration of the contract will depend on the response we get from our readers,” Akash added.
Vijay Mallya rescues Katrina!!!
Look at her! The pretty girl barely out of her teens is running from pillar to post. On Saturday 3 May she was in 3 cities within 12 hours.
“I was shooting in Goa and had to catch a flight to Bangalore for the IPL match on Saturday,” she explains breathlessly.
“But I missed my flight. Fortunately Dr Vijay Mallya had me flown in his jet or I wouldn’t have been able to make it…That’s one of the advantages of being the brand ambassador for Dr Mallya’s team (Royal Challengers). You know they’ll make sure you’d reach where you are required in spite of maddening schedules.”
Katrina loves cricket. “Everyone in London is crazy about the game. So I kind of grew up with the game. Here in India too it’s a passion.
So when Dr Mallya asked me to be be their brand ambassador I agreed. I’ve known him for years and can’t say no to him.We shot the music video with Sanjay Gupta and it was great fun.”
She loves watching the IPL games and cheering for her team.
“The only thing I hate is to have fans approaching me, not because I don’t like to connect with fans. In fact I love it. But while watching a match I don’t want to be disturbed. People tend to get in the way when the matches are on.”
The lovely lass from London is only now learning to connect with the public.
“Whether it’s the IPL matches or my songs and dances for movies, I think I’ve really started having fun only now after Race. I’ve never enjoyed my dancing so much.
Yeah I think I’m finally unwinding both on screen and on stage. I recently started enjoying dancing on stage. I realized that at the Zee awards. Earlier I had neither the songs nor the confidence. Now I guess I’ve a bit of both.”
