Forget cheergirls, Riya is here
Bollywood actor Riya Sen has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Indian Premier League’s official website, www.iplt20.com.
According to an agreement, Riya’s role will require her to attend the IPL matches, interact with cricketers and post her interactions and views on the website.
Talking from Dubai, Chief Technical Architect of www.iplt20.com, Akash Aurora confirmed Riya’s appointment. He said, “Yes, we have appointed Riya as the brand ambassador of our website.”
Explaining why they chose Riya, Akash said, “We saw Riya attending a couple of the IPL matches. We observed that she was quite well-versed with the game and its proceedings.
Rather than having somebody naive on board, we preferred getting someone who knows about the game. Riya was our first choice and we went ahead with her.”
“Riya has already signed the contract. The duration of the contract will depend on the response we get from our readers,” Akash added.
It pays to be a Garam Masala girl
Neetu Chandra made her debut with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in ‘Garam Masala’ and ever since then there hasn’t been any looking back for this young woman.
With three successful films in a row (her ‘Traffic Signal’ was an average performer while ‘One Two Three’ has been a decent money spinner as well), Neetu Chandra is looking forward to an exciting phase ahead.
However, she continues to be rooted to reality and is far from flying high. Just recently, Nargis, Neetu’s counterpart in ‘Garam Masala’, was seen in ‘Pranali’ after quite some gap.
Does she feel that she has moved on by quite some miles while Nargis and Daisy (the third girl in ‘Garam Masala’) are still trying to find a foothold?
“I don’t think so”, reflects Neetu, “I am happy that Nargis is working and having a film release to her name. It’s a matter of whether you are working or not. As long as you are working and visible, it is a matter of time before things fall in place.”
“Yes, there is hard work involved and I have to admit that my perseverance over the years has paid. 2008 should be my year with number of prestigious films in the pipeline.
I have to watch my steps quite carefully from hereon since these are crucial times ahead for me”, says Neetu who has as many as four major films lined up for release in the second half of 2008.
While Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Mumbai Cutting’ is round the corner and is also traveling festival circuits, she also has to her name UTV/Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’ with Abhay Deol and Paresh Rawal.
In addition, there is Adlabs’ ‘Flat No. 13 B’ where she is paired with Madhavan while shooting for Gary Grewal’s tentatively titled ‘Khusarprasad Ka Bhoot’ is currently on in Bhopal.
This is not all as after the success of ‘One Two Three’, the film’s producer Kumar Mangat has signed her for two more films where she would be enacting the role of a leading lady.
Apart from that, Shree Ashtvinayak, which has been fast catching up to become one of the premier film making companies of the country today, have signed Neetu Chandra for not one, but as many as three films!
It appears that a lot on her plate is indeed not too much for Neetu Chandra who is happy while being busy!
Everyone is raving over Bebo’s bikini
Bebo’s super hot look in Tashan is bringing her super accolades.
Everyone’s been trying to copy Kareena’s cool look in Tashan, just like it happened with Jab We Met earlier and of course, her never forgotten style icon appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
She wowed everyone as Poo and now she’s wowing everyone all over again as Pooja in Tashan. Her red hot look has caught the eye of the industry and endorsement wallahs alike and designer Aki Narula the man behind the magic is hounded by clients asking him to give them ‘ the Bebo look.’
Everyone’s raving about her va va voom hot bikini shot. Almost Hollywood straight out of James Bond film, Bebo positively scorched the scene in her bikini shot.
She can play the hottie and the girl next door effectively as proved by her in Tashan. And obviously Ms Kapoor’s very thrilled with the response. And she’s all fulsome praise for Aki.. Nirula the designer, not to be confused with her co star Akki!
“Words fall short to praise the kind of talent Aki has. He is one of the most talented designers we have.
He is just fantastic and what he has done for me in this movie is commendable he just changed my entire look; it is something that has never been seen before.
I think the whole idea of keeping it very grunge and rugged for me has really worked because I don’t think an Indian actress has really done that on screen before..
We have all worked together as a team to give me a unique look.. I particularly love Pooja’s signature outfit – A white shirt with nice jeans and boots. I think I live in that always and that’s my style mantra!”
No wonder Bebo’s our favourite style icon!
